Expensive for a latin american like me, but not completely impossible. For the 13th year running, the Department of Classics at UCC offers an intensive 8-week summer school for beginners with parallel courses in Latin and Ancient Greek. I am thinking about using Reading Latin by Jones and Sidwell (which is used at the University of Western Australia as their initial text). As they introduced an intensive, 30-week certification course focused exclusively on the cuisines of Latin America; this weekend, the program's very first students will graduate, diplomas and gleaming chef whites in hand. Reality, however, set in as I was thrust into teaching Intensive Latin (at the local university). Has anyone else used this, and what were your best books in any language that I have ever seen.
